It looks to me like the METS are in the same situation as when they fired Willie Randolph!
Omar Minaya has decided that a change in a position (which was not a problem) would help the METS.
So, they trade one of their BEST TEAM players for a player in Jeff Francoeur who does not have the same offensive production. Hmmm is all I am able to come up with. I KNOW, let’s get rid of a player who is well liked by fans and team-mates alike and bring in someone no one knows well, less offensive numbers, and this will right the team decimated by injuries by their most productive players!
My opinion here, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this, Omar made a move out of DESPERATION! Plain and simple… Omar did not fix a problem at all. Omar simply made a change which did not need to be made!
Remember last year when Willie Randolph was fired in the wee hours of the morning? Did that change need to be made? I think not!!
Now we have Jerry calling the shots and it not only looks the same but, it IS the same!
If the players don’t “BUY IN” to what you are selling, you can’t win games let alone a championship! The current METS team, by far, has to be the worst I have seen since the days of “Art Howe”!
I have givin credence to Jerry for the lack of “Horses” due to injuries. It doesn’t seem to matter. Same song, same dance.
As much as I believed in Omar Minaya, after this “DUMB” trade, I now need to put the METS lack of production on him and he alone is the reason for the METS demise.
CHRIST, he doesn’t even have enough prospects to make a decent trade! So you trade Ryan Church for Jeff Francoeur thinking it will help the team….
Enough said. Desperate people do desperate things. That’s all.
I could go on forever about this especially since I have not posted in so long. I don’t think I need to since any MET fan already knows how this goes.
I really, really hope to talk to you in September and maybe beyond. I ain’t gonna happen with trades like today!
