What do I mean the Jets are back? Just take a look at the upgrades to the offensive line. Now, go on to the QB. Brett Farve is so much better than Chad Pennington. Not enough for you? What about Thomas Jones? This guy will run the daylights out of the ball with that line and Brett’s ablility to throw the ball at any time.
Don’t forget about recievers such as Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery. The list does not stop there by any means.
The JETS have created a team ulike they have had since 1969!
Let’s see what happens this year. Barring injuries, the Jets will be in the playoffs. I can seeee it coming!
Go JETS!

The first thing is I am not sure if I underestimated the Dallas Cowboys of over estimated the New York Jets. Maybe it as a lot of both! That game was so ugly I could not write anything about it. Since the Jets did nothing to talk about, I decided to skip the game completely.
On to Jets vs Dolphins! Could the New York Sack Exchange be back? The defense played a GREAT game! They did nothing more than to give the offense the ball with a short field. You can’t ask for more than that! Kellen Clemens did everything with the short field position. OK, it was also Leon Washington and Thomas Jones. The rushing game was working and Clemens was clicking.
The JETS showed a reason to believe in next year. Laverneus Coles came back and played at less than %100 to prove he has not given up on the season. THAT IS a leader! And…he had a GREAT game! Maybe the JETS are unable to reach the playoffs, but they sure can show that this season is a fluke compared to last year. The talent is there! The coaches are there! The meltdowns in the second half are what caused the second half flop.
The rest of the schedule for the Jets is in no way easy. Cleveland, New England, Tennessee, and Kansas City. A very tough finish for a team trying to prove themselves as next years contenders. 2 wins out of the last 4 will be real good. 3 is obviously fantastic and 4 is perfection. Beating the New England Patriots would be one of the biggest upsets in Jets history…
Let’s GO gang-green! Win em ALL!

It’s time Jets fans to pat yourselves on the back, kick back on Thanksgiving day, and watch your team play against another elite team! Your JETS are in Dallas to play the Cowgir…….Cowboys! This could make for a GREAT afternoon of football.
Set your hopes high Jet fans since the Cowboys are no where near the team their record shows. Did you see the first game against the Giants when the Giants defense had no clue what their assignments were? The Giants gave that game away with mistakes, much like the recent game with the second half penalties.
How about the Buffalo game? The Bills gave that game to the Cowboys on a platter! 25-24 against a BAD team does not a dominating team make! Want more? Dallas vs Minnesota on October 21st. Another game Dallas had to struggle against a not-so-good team! How about the Washington Redskins game last week? 28-23, a resounding crush by Dallas? No, a lucky win by a very lucky team!!
Tomorrow the Cowboys get to play a team whose record is no even close to the teams ability. The Jets ARE a very good team with some problems. Against Pittsburgh it seemed as they finally corrected some of those problems. They played 60 minutes of football and beat one of the better teams in the AFC! The Jets need to continue that same emotion and play the complete 60 minutes on Thanksgiving day against the Dallas Cowboys. If they can accomplish that, they will come away with an even bigger upset than last week!
I am here to tell you boys and girls, The Cowboys ARE NOT an elite team! Not even close! They are the most beatable team with one of the best records in football. That my friends defines the Dallas Cownboys! Yes they have Terrell Owens, Marion Barber, and Julius Jones! They also have a quarterback named Tony Romo who is capable of throwing many passes to the other team! See the Bills game for proof!
GET YOUR GREEN ON for tomorrows game Jets fans! This is going to be a WILD RIDE! You betcha, I WILL be wearing my Jets shirt for the first time this year!
Here’s to FLYING THROUGH SOME SILVER STARS tomorrow! Good Luck to the New York Jets!
What ever the outcome of the game, remember it is only a game. Enjoy your time with friends and family on this Thanksgiving day!
God Bless to everyone and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

After last week and the debacle I decided it was not a good idea to write anything about the Jets. Since there was nothing good/nice to say, it was better to just shut up.
This week the Washington Redskins came to Giants Sadium with the beginning of a new era. Kellen Clemens was the starter and new hope was instilled upon the Jets faithful. Elation began on the opening kickoff with Leon Washington running the ball 86 yards for a touch down! Now THAT got “Gang Green” going!
Cartwright recieves the kick and runs it to Washingtons 30. 10 plays, 1 penalty against the Jets, 5:06 later, Shaun Suisham kicks a 46 yard field goal to get Washington back into the game. Now it’s the Jet’s turn with Kellen Clemens at the helm!
Clemens and the Jets use up 13:02 along with a roughing the passer penalty to drive the ball 69 yards. Mike Nugent kicks a 29 yard field goal to give the points back to the Jets. 10-3 Jets at the end of the 1st quarter.
The second quarter has the Jets adding to their lead with Joe Kowalewski catching a 1 yard touchdown pass from Clemens to put the Jets up by 14. Gang Green is going crazy at this point. The crowd is having the time of their lives.
This is where it all turns sour…The Jets defense does a good job of preventing the Redskins from getting into the end zone. Only problem is the Jets offense is unable to score again. Washington scores 17 unanswered points in the second half, including a 2 point conversion to put them up by 3.
The Jets were able to get the ball and put Mike Nugent in position to tie the game with 10 seconds remaining on the clock. The kick is up….and it’s good from 30 yards. Overtime and new hope after the defensive letdown.
You know the ending as Shaun Suisham kicks the game winner in OT.
My take on the game goes something like this. Kellen Clemens made some fantastic decisions. He ran well and threw exteremly well. Some dropped passes, a questionable call on Jerich Cotchery, and the ending should have been different.
On the defensive side of the ball, I am not so sure. The defense as a unit played a solid first half. Now we are back to finishing a game. With a 14 polnt lead, the defense was unable to contain Cambell and Portis and allowed the Skins to take the lead. Were they TIRED? That was my thought in some earlier games. The offense gave them some rest this time around so that excuse is garbage.
As for Chad Pennington, I like him as a player and team leader. I think he knows his time is done with the Jets. Kellen Clemens has shown he is capable of leading this offense. Chad should stay with the team because of his knowledge of the game. He knows he would take a hefty paycut for that to happen. That is for another day during the offseason.
If I missed anything or you have comments on this, please feel free to leave them.
Wishing the Jets all the best and hoping they are able to get a couple wins before the season ends!

It’s so hard to come up with something to write about a team which only plays part of a football game. The Jets have so many talented players, and they just can’t finish a game. Eric Mangini showed HIS frustration in the post game interview. What does it take to get a group of good players to play for 60 minutes?
I will not say anyone gave up…I don’t believe that for 1 second. What I saw was the penalties in the second half after so many quarters without one. What happened to the self-disipline? Chad Pennington had one of his most productive days to lose after leading the game! HOW does that happen?
What I saw was an inablility to pick up the blitz and protect Chad. It was like opening the flood gates and EVERYONE got through. Chad’s one mistake was late in the game and VERY costly. The Jets were driving and would have made a win possible had they scored. Instead, Chad throws the interception with a BIG runback. GAME OVER!
I personally have been calling for Chad to be benched and Kellen Clemens becoming the starter. Chad’s performance DID NOT enforce that at all. But, it is time to make a change. WHY? Chad STILL has not proven he can spread the defense. One 55 yard pass will NEVER spread the defense out. If you can’t consistantly connect on long passes, the box will always be loaded. Prove you are able to beat the DB’s and the front will open for the run.
Kellen Clemens has the arm to throw the ball and throw accurately. He NEEDS to start and show what he is able to do. Face it, the Jets are going nowhere this year. It’s time to see if Clemens IS in fact the future. Especially when you have Coles and Cotchery able to break it deep and someone who is able to reach them with some rip behind the ball. Not floaters which barely make it!
Sorry Jets fans, but it’s over for 2007. It’s time to take a look at 2008! The future has to begin this week or there is no future!

Watching the Jets - Eagles, I came to the realization that Chad Pennington can’t cut it anymore. Thomas Jones had a wonderful day rushing. The best this year by a Jet. Well…I think that was the Eagle’s defense allowing that little bit of hope. Don’t get excited here Jets fans!!
If Jones was so good, why did he not get the ball on fourth and one? Instead, a fade pass was called and blocked! Hmmmm….Yup, sure is fun being a couch coach! The problem here my friends is once again the red zone! The Jets are again unable to come up with a TD in the red zone.
Kudos to the Jets defense. They did a GREAT job stopping a mediocre Philley offense when needed. They even came up with an interception which should have created a tie game. Alas, Chad once again could not deliver when needed.
The biggest problem I see with the Jets is, Chad Pennington does not put any fear in the opposing defense. They know he can’t throw deep so they just play man coverage and stack the box with 8 players to prevent the run.
I would not get all GA-GA about the Jets defense either. The Jets got 3, which happens to equal the first 5 game total, sacks against a team that gave up 12 sacks against the Giants. What does that tell you about the Eagles offensive line. Does the word “offensive” offensive line come to mind?
Look, I like Chad and what he has done. Kellen Clemens NEEDS to start playing so the Jets can see if HE is the future. If Clemens does not produce, it’s all good since they can trade Chad and free up a ton of money for a different quarterback.
Bottom line Jets fans, Kellen Clemens HAS to start playing. He is able to spread the defense with his ability to throw deep. This in turn will open the running game much better. Without, the Jets are doomed to a 1-15 season the way I see it. Yup 1 win against a bad Miami Dolphin team. At least they would get the first choice in the draft….and we saw what happened the last time when they selected Keyshawn Johnson!!
It’s time for a change, and not for the sake of change. This is for the good of the team. Eric Mangini is steadfast against making a change. He is attempting to prove loyalty toward his players. I applaud him for that. Chad Pennington will cost over 7 million against the cap next year. At 1-5, it’s time to take a look at the future and possibly create some cap room in the process.
I would love to hear your comments on the future of the Jets and Chad Pennington. See you next week after the Cincinnati game!

What can I say about the game? Chad Pennington was playing well until….the interseption. That ill-advised pass was a killer. I’m not even talking about the last one. The first was a pass which should never have been thrown! THAT my friends is not how games are won!
The Jets defense continues to do a GREAT job! They are preventing the opposition from moving the ball at crucial moments in the game. They are giving the offense a chance! What more can you ask from your defense?
No, before you ask, I am not getting off the Kellen Clemens thing here. Kellen is still the future of the Jets as I see it. As long as Chad Pennington continues to move the team, Chad should be the man! Kellen is the person you are looking at when Chad can no longer do it, or get it done!
The JETS come into GIANTS stadium next week. As you know, I am a GIANTS fan and my game review may be a little biased. Win or lose for either team, I PROMISE to be as unbiased as possible after the game! The JETS are a New York team and I wish them the best….except next week!
Okay, that’s it until next week. Good luck to the JETS!!

Sunday presented a very nice day for New York football. The New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins. The score? 31-28! That is not the telling story. It’s HOW the Jets won the game! Looking at the stats, the Jets lost the game.
So HOW did they win? Chad Pennington, that’s how! 15 for 22 with no interceptions. Yep, only 124 yards but, those were needed yards at required times. 8-13 in third down conversions compared to 3-9 by Miami. That shows the defense played much better than in the past couple games. What about the big ZERO for interceptions? Chad Pennington showed up for the game and played well! Don’t forget about that much needed scramble Chad had for a TD!
When you see a stat like total yards; Miami 424, Jets 256, that is what makes the game alarming! It also PROVES the Jets defense did their job! The Jets defense was able to stop the Dolphins when they had to. My hats off to Eric Mangini and the entire New York Jets team. What ever they did worked GREAT, at least for one game.
Keep it up guys! We want ALL New York teams to do well!
See you next week!

Watched the JETS game and from what I could tell is the JETS fans should hope that Pennington is not healthy this year! Kellen Clemens did a fantastic job moving the offense. Granted they came up a little short, but Clemens did what Pennington could not do in the preseason. Now, Clemens has proven he can do it during regular games!
Gang Green have a ton to look forward too. Eric Mangini is a really good coach. In Kellen Clemens they look like there is a great future.
JETS, JETS, JETS!

The J E T S got crushed by New England! Here is how I see it.
Defense was none existant. They couldn’t cover, stop, or pressure anyone. This could be a long year for the guys in green! One thing I didn’t understand was Eric Mangini leaving Chad Pennington in when the game was out of reach………… I see Chad limping around and Eric leaves him in risking a worse injury. Why!?! The game was over!
I understand that time wise there was still a chance to come back. Realistically, it wasn’t happening. What happened to the running game? The heralded Thomas Jones return has an unimpressive 14 carries for 42 yards. Total team rushing was 60 yards on 29 carries! Unacceptable in my opinion! Hey, this is my opinion blog!
Chad Pennington was 16 of 21 for 167 yards. Â Kellen Clemens was not better at 5 of 10 for 35 yards. 5 SACKS is rediculous!
I guess without an “O” line, you don’t have any offensive plays! 237 TOTAL yards is not going to win a game. Simple as that! As a matter of fact, if anyone saw anything good in the game, please post it since there was nothing which I saw!
I will credit New England with their ability to protect the football and Tom Brady.
I’ll be back next week with my thoughts on the Baltimore game.
GO JETS!
