Willie Randolph is “FIRED!”

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I think I’m beginning to understand how these overpaid baseball players work. Let me see if this is correct, your manager, Willie Randolph, creates a lineup with whomever is healthy enough to play. The players Willie Randolph sends out on the field fail to win, and Willie Randolph gets fired! Is that pretty much how it goes down? If that is not the most F’ed up thing going, I don’t know what is!

Let’s see here, Omar Minaya got the players which are either unable to stay on the field, or are too old to play. Willie Randolph puts those who are still healthy on the field and they don’t win. Omar Minaya fires Willie Randolph for the lack of wins. As you can tell, I’m still trying to figure out some of this! Yes I know you can’t fire the over-the-hill players who should not have gotten a contract to begin with, and I know the manager ALWAYS takes the hit, but where in this is the GM’s culpability?

Omar Minaya gave those players to Willie Randolph. You know the ones who are unable to play! Oh, and don’t forget they still get paid way more than you or me for not playing…

Willie Randolph is fired and Omar can continue with his job for supplying inadaquate ballplayers to Willie. I don’t know about you, but that equation seems a little one sided to me.

I’m not harping on Omar for the people he gave Willie other than Alou who can’t stay on the field, and Carlos Delgado who is too old to play, and how many others which continue to be injured… A LA Pedro Martinez….

My greatest excitment for the METS was not Pedro, it was getting Willie Randolph to manage the team. What has Pedro done for the team compare to what Willie Randolph has done?

I know it’s too late now so I have this to say about the whole thing;
“Thank you Willie Randolph for being a mans man and serving the team the way you did for your few short years. We love you Willie and wish you all the best. May GOD bless you and yours!”

A note to Omar, you are able to protect yourself by firing your manager, but you can’t hide the fact that your manager only had the players you gave him! It’s time to rethink your player hiring. Start with your scouts since they did not help you much over the past 4 years. You are next to go and you should have been first!! JMHO as a fan!

Aaron Heilman

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Sorry for the loooong away time. I have been watching Aaron Heilman and the Mets.
I now know what words taste like. Aaron Heilman absolutely sucks! There are no
other words for it! In the last 14 days Aaron Heilman had what, 1 outing without
giving up a run! What happened tonight once again? Aaron Heilman gave up too many
runs after a very good outing by a new pitcher for the Mets. Vargas pitched a wonderful
game until Heilman came in.

Ok, 5-3 was not all Aaron Heilman’s fault. BUT, the LEAD was! When you come into a game you
are supposed to STOP the other team from scoring and not ADD runs.

I can tell you that CROW does not taste good after my last post about Aaron Heilman!

So, what do you think the solution is? What is the best way to eliminate Aaron Heilman?
Remember the money is a detering factor in the solution. Baseball is no longer about
performance as much as the money invested.

I really want to hear your thoughts on this. It’s not just about the Mets, it IS about BASEBALL!

Mets Are Done!

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Like the topic Mets Are Done? Yea me too. The reason is that is how the media portrayed it when the lost to Atlanta and the first game against Phillidelphia. Hey folks just wait until tomorrow when all the media idiots go wild on the fact that the Mets have won 3 in a row. WHAT? THREE? How the HELL did that happen? They only won the second game against Philly because of errors. They had to go to extra innings against them the last night.

I almost forgot that Aaron Heilman needs to go! He keeps giving up those home runs when everything else is going good. I wish some of these idiots would tell us who will replace him in the bullpen. It’s funny how someone falters a little and the WORLD is against him!

HEY PEOPLE! Eric Heilman in NOT perferct and NEVER WILL be. What Aaron Heilman is, is a well seasoned veteran who knows how to pitch to big league hitters! DO NOT FORGET THIS simply because you heard it on the radio or read it in the papers. What happened today does not mean that will happen tomorrow! Just check out Billy Wagner’s stats at the end of last year. Does that make him unpitchable? Of course not. He got a little tired since noone else could do the job!

Here we are in the second week of the season and the media has the Mets as total losers already. I certainly hope you do not subscribe to this thinking. It’s a long frigging season with a bazillion games left to play. If you are worried now you do not deserve nor need to be a Mets fan. Hell, you shouldn’t be a baseball fan for that matter.

April is just the beginning of the season. The end of August and September is when you begin to worry about stuff. You people remember last year?

To finalize this, DO NOT pay attention to the A-holes in the media. They are only trying to sell papers and their program. You are smarter than that. If you weren’t, you would be Yankee fans or Red Sox fans…Just kidding.

As Mets fans, please give the team a chance to get their act going. Look at the talent we have and how they perform. We got a guy every team out there wishes they had. ANGEL PAGAN! Remember that name folks. This man has done nothing but hit the ball since spring training. It will not be good for him when Castillo returns!

Ok, I will stop now, but I really need your thoughts on this stuff.

The Season Has Begun!

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

The 2008 season has begun. The Mets playing the Marlins begins with the team that demolished the Mets playoff hopes. It begins with Johann Santana pitching a wonderful game other than 1 mistake pitch. That pitch turned into a 2 run home run. Other than that, Johann pitched a wondrful game. I think it was 8 strikeouts. A very good beginning seeing as the hitters are usually ahead of the pitchers at the start of the season.

Tonight was a little different. Pedro Martinez left the game with a hamstring injury. Hmmmmm……..

I often wonder why major league players are ALWAYS injured when they are not performing up to their capabilities. That aside, this is where we are at my Mets fans. 1 and 1 to start the season. Not shabby as tonight was lost in the 10th inning.

Hey Mets fans, I REALLY need some support here. Tell me you thoughts please. This will enable me to write more about more things. There are still 160 games to go. Join in and let me know your thoughts!

Mets are out

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

This is my shameless babble from a disappointed Mets fan! I hope you are ready for my dissertation on the Mets demise!

For the last 3 weeks, the Mets SUCKED! There is no other way to put it! The pitching fell apart, the defense fell apart and the offense, while hitting when they were behind, was not that good either!

Tom Glavine had NOTHING today! There is no sugar coating here! Glavine could not get out of the first inning for gosh sake! Let’s continue into the game. Bases loaded and Ramon Castro hits a ball that looks like it is gone. It fell safely into the glove of left fielder Cody Ross! THAT my friends was the beginning of the end to an otherwise wonderful season!

What happened with the Mets season? Let me think for about a second. Can you say bullpen? Should we list the culprits? Eric Heilman,
Guillermo Mota, and even Billy Wagner! OMG it sucks! 7 game lead and end up with nothing! Not even a wild card!

What the &#$* happened to having the best record in the National League? Not only did that dissolve, it evaporated without reason! Who do you blame? The OVER PAID players, that’s who.

Do you think for 1 second that Willie Randolph asked them to play like crap? Do you think that Willie Randolph “told” his players to forget about people on base? What about fundamentals? Was it Willie Randolph who made them forget? I think not!

I am tired of the media getting people fired from jobs simply because the “PLAYERS” don’t perform! It’s time the PLAYERS become accountable for their lack of production! Let’s see, millions of dollars per player and the player is not responsible for his play? That ain’t right!

Bottom line, Willie Randolph did not lose the 7 game lead, his players did. The defense sucked, the pitching sucked, the bullpen sucked! How much more do I need to say? The saving grace is there is a good nucleus with the team. They only need to create a pitching staff from this point!

Tom Glavine is finished as far as I can see, Pedro Martinez is about done also, but there is hope with John Maine, Philip Humber, Mike Pelfrey, and the others we haven’t seen as yet.

This is my glass-half-full thing…Mets in 08 are GREAT!

Hope for the Mets

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

After another dreadful loss on Friday night, the Mets came back swinging today! In more ways than one! John Maine was in his glory this afternoon with a 14 strikeout outing. He flirted with the first no-hitter by a Mets pitcher…EVER! 7 2/3 innings of no hit ball broken up by a swinging bunt by Paul Hoover.

Finally, the Mets showed some spunk during a bench clearing melee. Twice no less. It began with Marlins pitcher Harvey Garcia throwing a ball behind Louis Castillo after Lastings Milledge homered and Jose Reyes doubled. The benches and bullpens cleared. No punches were thrown…YET! After the teams returned to their proper places, Miguel Olivo and Jose Reyes were talking it up. Next thing you know, Olivo is charging Reyes at third, throws a punch which struck Sandy Alomar. Benches and bullpens clear again. Everyhing gets calmed down and play finally resumes. It was ONLY the 5th inning at the time! Final score Mets 13 Florida 0!

Now, in case you got so excited after the game that you had to go mow the lawn or visit a friend, you may not have noticed 2 other important scores. Nationals 4 Phillies 2 and San Diego 3 Milwaukee 4. You know why the Phillies loss is important, but maybe not San Diego’s loss. Here it is:

As you can see by the highlighted teams, the Mets MUST win on Sunday. Their last hope to play in October! The scenario goes like this with a Mets win and Phillies loss the Mets win the division, Phillies win the Mets play the Phillies on Monday for division title. Now, if San Diego loses on Sunday and the Phillies win along with the Mets, there are 3 teams with 89 wins. The first thing is for the Mets to play at Phillie to decide the division winner. The loser would then play San Diego in order to decide the wild card. To make it a little more interesting, if the Mets lose the division in the playoff, they would host San Diego, but if the Phillies lose the division, they would travel to San Diego. Did you get all that? Good….

I really hope I have something worth while to write tomorrow and not some shameless babble by a disappointed Mets fan who is totally ticked off to the seasons end!

Sweep and Swept!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

The Mets sweep the Marlins, finally! What happens next? The bullpen totally implodes! The bullpen surrendered every lead the Mets had. Result? Washington Nationals sweep the Mets!

Remember Mota? Did it again! Heilman? Yep, same thing! Tom Glavine had a rough outing his last time. He got punched around pretty good. Mike Pelfrey starts off well, but when they begin to hit him he seems to fall apart! Philip Humber started well also. Again, the Nats started hitting him and Willie Randolph replaced him before he got knocked all over the place. The game was still winnable at that point. Enter the bullpen! AGAIN!!!

Tonight Pedro Martinez had a very nice outing. All of a sudden the offense went to sleep. This is not a good way to enter the post season…should the Mets even make it to the post season. All tied with the last 3 against the Marlins. The Phillies will finish against the Nationals.

Hold onto your hats Mets fans…Bumpy ride ahead! 3 games left and all even in the division! BOY this sucks!! 7 game lead down to a tie! Hats off to Phillie for winning when they had to. The Mets went in the opposite direction!

Hope to give you more in October! LET’S GO METS, LET’S GO METS, LET’S GO METS GO!!!!!!

Mets Lose Again

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Ok, the title is about the Mets most recent loss. Ummm….that was tonight to the Marlins! What did I say in my last post?

I am not going to rant about the loss, rather the fact that Willie Randolph is such a great manager. Did you listen to his post game interview? When asked about the Lastings Milledge ejection he simply said, ” You better talk to the parties involved.”

Nobody thrown under the bus, no ill-advised comments, simple facts about “what HE knew!” That’s KEWL!

Speaking of throwing, who was the IDIOT METS FAN throwing the ball at Aaron Heilman from the stands? What a lame-brain a$$h&*e! Doesn’t that make the rest of us fans look good? That jerk should be banned from EVERY stadium in the US! That includes little league! Could you imagine him throwing a ball at a 10 year old kid during a game?

Anyway, Mets fans it’s time for a ralley cry. 1.5 game lead after the Phillies won tonight. Repeat after me;
LET’S GO METS!  LET’S GO METS! LET’S GO METS!!!!!!

Mets lose 5 straight

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Well……After my dumb post about being 7 games up, the Mets were swept yet again by the Phillies. To make matters worse, they also lost the first two games to the Nationals!

Once again, pitching failed them. BUT, it wasn’t only the bullpen this time, it was a combo of …. Get this … STARTERS … and … ERRORS! Can you believe THAT? ERRORS cost the METS wins!

Lawerence sucked. We all saw that. Throwing the ball around the infield made it worse! What was it? Like 6 errors in the game? I am not sure since I got PISSED and finally walked away from the game!! Game 2 against the Nationals, and another 4 run lead, Maine SUCKED!  What, another 4 errors? AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!

Sorry, I am normally a calm quite sort of person. This stuff TICKS ME THE F… OFF! Little league baseball with MAJOR LEAGUE salaries!

What does this all mean to Mets fans? It means that the Mets were only 1.5 games ahead at the start of tonights game. THANK GOD the Mets won. The Phillies were still at a 0-0 tie last I saw.

[UPDATE] Extra innings between the Phillies and the Cardinals! This was at 11:18 pm EDT. Let you know more if I am still here!

Tonight, Pelfrey started very well. He even left the game BEFORE giving up the lead! HOLY CRAP, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Sosa came in and did a good job. [It’s about time the bullpen did something!]

Getting down to the nitty-gritty, the Mets are currently 2.0 games above the Phillies. The Phillies are only 1.5 games behind the Padres. If ANYONE thinks that the Mets are an automatic in the playoffs, THINK AGAIN!

Should the Phillies win the division, and the Padres continue to win, the METS ARE OUT! Simple as that!

[UPDATE time=11.28 EDT] The Phillies just lost which leaves the Mets at 2.5 game lead! Long way to go!

There is 4 games with the Marlins now. Who ALWAYS tends to beat the Mets? Yup, it’s the Marlins. The ONLY saving grace is that we have Martinez and Glavine starting the first 2 games. Trust me, that is NOT a gaurentee to win! Just some extra hope!

Stick with me people, more on the way about my favorite team!

Last Braves Series

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Shhhhhhh…… I’m writing this very quietly. Don’t tell anyone I said this! ;-)
The METS beat the Braves tonight and actually gave them a winning season against the Braves! With the Phillies being POUNDED by the Rockies, it gives the METS a more comfortable 7 game lead in the east. With 3 games against the Phillies on deck, well……………………………………………we will wait and see…………………………………………..

Should the METS be swept once more by the PHILLIES, at least they will still have a 4 game lead in the east! The worst thing I can think of is still the ability for the METS bullpen to give up runs at an alarming rate. Guillermo Mota did it again tonight against the BRAVES. This after Eric Heillman walked the tying run to first. OH, that was after retiring the first 2 batters and having a 1-2 count!

Hey PEOPLE, did anyone else notice that MOTA can’t seem to get anyone out these days? Last year he was unhittable. This year he is unJUICEable. Coincidence? I think not! Mental? Yup!

Anyway, talk soon as the playoffs near!
