What a great weekend. 8-1 since Pedro Martinez returned. Pedro is now 2-0 and throwing well. I want to be conspicuously quiet now with the Brave and Phillies coming in to town. Please excuse my lack of posts through this stretch.

You fans know what happens when you get giddy and start chirping about your team. EVERYTHING falls apart! I did it last year and the first thing that happened was losing Pedro Martinez!

I’ll shut up now and ask you to please post some thoughts about the 6 game lead or anything else METS related!

I have a concern with the MET’s pitching and I think you do also! Not the rotation, but the releif pitchers. Billy Wagner has let us down several times in the past few weeks. We know what Eric Heilman has done and our BEST releiver from last year cannot seem to get anyone out since he is off steroids……………………Can you say, ‘No mo Mota?”

OK, now that you are with me on this, 5 games is not as big as it looks! The series win in Cincinatti was good. In the 6th against Huston, they are up 6-2. What we ALL want is WIN, WIN, WIN!

That was Beltran you just saw hit the double and drive in Jose Reyes after his triple! Yep, I’m a little behind in this game……..

Now 7-2 MET’s! Let’s GO MET’s GO!

Update! Lastings Milidge just hit a 3 run homer! I LOVE this guy!

Swept by Pilley and a SWEEP in Atlanta! It don’t get no better than that my friends!

Who could hope for more? What happened to the bats in Philley? It doesn’t matter at this point I guess. They swept Atlanta after being swept by Philley. The Mets have also won again against the Reds. That keeps them well ahead in the division. The Mets are still 5 games up after the Philley’s win tonight against Atlanta.

Here is the deal, the Mets still play Atlanta and Philley. They need to win the series with both! After that, they can cruise a little. The schedule looks like this if you haven’t seen it yet:

As you can see, the schedule is easier from that point. With 23 games left after Cincinnati, the goal is to win EVERY series! The Mets have already won the series against the Reds. With the Astros coming in, they NEED to continue the hitting. 1 game is not good enough. A sweep is nice, but a series win is what is needed! Let’s Go Mets Go!!!!

4 GAMES……..Count them…..4…..Against Philly! The team DIRECTLY BEHIND them! The Mets lost 4 of 4. HOW! Not only did they give up the lead, they FLAT OUT BLEW THEM!

Now they are playing the dreaded BRAVES. The team they can’t beat this year. All of a sudden they are hitting the crap out of the ball! What up with that? 7-1 in the 9th with 2 out……………..I am SERIOUSLY confused with the “lack of kill instinct” the METS have. Is this a World Series Team? Can it win a playoff game?

These are all questions we need to ask outselves as fans. David Wright has been phenominal in August. Jose Reyes has slacked off a little. Homerun tonight was good though. Carlos Delgado with a wonderful 3 run homer to get it all going! These are the Mets I have watched since last year.

 What the Mets NEED to do now is win the series for the first time against the Braves! With the lead down to 2 games in the east, they HAVE to get at least 2 of 3! Win tomorrow and hope to win on Sunday against a GREAT hitting Braves team!

Here we are on the ALL important road trip against Philly, Atlanta, and Cinci!
Sitting here watching game one against the Phillies and you know what? It AIN’T GOOD!

Lawerence tried…….Willie let him stay…….Jorge didn’t help much at all. Result…….9-2 Phillies!
The Mets still have 2 at bats left at the time of this post. Is 7 runs impossible? NO. Feasible? NO!

Bottom of the 8th now……. Still 9-2 so I am closing for now. This is KILLING me. They CAN’T beat the guys THEY NEED to beat!

YOU’RE KIDDING ME!  You think everything is good because the METS still have a 3 game lead in the east? If you think that is cool, take a look at what is happening. The METS are losing 2 of 3 in the series that means the most. We have been lucky to watch Philly and Atlanta smack each other.

There is no way that the METS can keep this lead with the way they are playing. Losing games when you have the lead is unthinkable. The bullpen needs to regroup and pitch the way they are capable. Mr. MOTA has a serious problem this year. He was the staple last year. Mr. Heilman needs to step it up a notch and throw like he did last year.

I will not complain about Billy Wagner, he blew only his second save opportunity. Not bad if you ask me! The group needs to step it up! That is all there is to it!

Ok people, the home stretch is comming. Let’s put it all together! Throw strikes and get players out! DO IT!
